LONDON, Goodwood or Silverstone may be the places you would expect to top a poll of the most classic car-friendly places in the UK, but Preston has come out top in a poll to find the classic car capital of the UK.
Using data collected throughout 2014, it was found Preston hosts more classic car events and has more old car enthusiasts than anywhere else in the UK. With events such as the Lancashire Classic Car and Motorcycle Show, Preston has shown itself to be the place to go for old car events.
Beating Norwich into second place, Preston also outranked Bath in third spot, followed by Manchester, Cambridge, Newcastle, Brighton, Exeter, Bristol and Southampton to take the number one position in the top 10.
Dawn Holmes, Marketing Manager of Carole Nash, which carried out the survey, said: ‘Great events and great roads go some way to explaining Preston’s popularity with classic car fans. It’s also encouraging to see so many people passionate about classic cars across the whole of the UK.’
