Ford has recently launched quite a comprehensive trial in London giving 20,000 Ford car owners the opportunity to earn an extra income from their car.
The new scheme is called “Pilot”. Pilot gives buyers utilising Ford Credit to help pay for their loan by renting out their cars to other people. Bookings can be made through a partnership that’s been set up with Easy Car Club – https://carclub.easycar.com. Easy Car Club’s strapline is “the social way to hire” because you can rent your car out to real people.
David McClelland, Vice President of Marketing at Ford Credit said: “There is consumer interest in sharing the cost of vehicle ownership and this programme will help us understand to what extent that interest extends to customers who are financing a Ford vehicle.”
“Most vehicles are parked and out of use much of the time. This pilot will help us gauge our customers’ desire to pick up extra cash and keep their vehicles in use.”
How it works is that renters will pick up the vehicle keys at a safe location and then return the car and keys to the original collection point after the rental period has completed.
The scheme has been targeted at “Millennials”. Millennials are people born between 1980 and the mid-1990’s who are tech-aware and open to new ideas to help them save money.
You have until the 1st August to apply but only those people contacted directly by Ford Credit will be eligible to sign up.
